If French- then go back to the golden years of French automobile. Starting with Delahaye but also Talbot Lago (my favourite of all).
Bugatti was also a French brand (despite the Italian name) and I also loved Facel Vega!
This was French design at its best!

Cabriolet or coupe?
I love the cabriolet. Pininfarina designed and reminiscent of the Fiat 124 from the same period. But not even the Jaeger instruments could sway you from the Volvo. Loving these old press images. Thanks. Andrew
I would have gone for the Coupé. I generally much prefer the line of the Coupés.
And it was a strong possibility, Andrew. The problem was: - A 6 Cyl was my first choice. To find one is not that easy. - The rust is a biiiig problem. Most of those I saw ( yes, I saw 4! ) had their chassis eaten by the rust. Even worse than for the P 180...

Well, the Citroen DS Line is not bad, as well as the Peugeot RCZ.
