Aston Martin DB6
Having the time to walk around the Parisian streets in May was a true luxury. In my home city I am rushing from place to place and rarely carry a camera. But in Paris I stumbled upon a few treasures including this DB6 Superleggera.
According to the Wikipedia summary statistics, the DB6 was built between 1965 and 1971, powered by a 3.995L straight six engine producing 210Kw, weighed 1474Kg, and accelerated from 0-100kph in 8.4s.
I was interested to see the Superleggera on the bonnet as my reading suggests that this construction technique was abandoned after the DB5; however the DB6 was only 17Kg heavier than the outgoing car, so I guess it was still relatively light. Anyway, a cool car from my childhood dreams.

I could not more agree that the rear design of the DB6s perverts the purity of the earlier generations style If I remember well, the DB4 & 5 design comes from Touring, the rear is really homogeneous with the rest of the car, brilliant Italian styling ...
Superleggera mystery...
..my guess is: The bodies of the Aston Martins with Superleggera construction were not built by Touring. They were built in England under licence from Touring. So, though the DB6 stopped using this construction method, they kept the name (or rather badge)...
To be clear, I'm not against Kamm backs across the board, per se...
just in this case. The proportions (width to height of body in cross section) just don't work for me, with the Kamm back. The Alfas (among others) don't have this "problem" to my eyes... Cheers, TM

A superb car
Hi, I think I've seen this car parked on the Place Vendome already! Clearly a good reason to go vintage. Theoretically you would go DB4 or even DB5, but when you have the real thing there, the DB6 is awesome! Best Dje
