Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet recently released a new version of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon : Ref. 26643TI.OO.D002CA.01 . credit: Hodinkee It was designed in collaboration with Yoon Ahn (right) & Verbal (right): Yoon Ahn is an American fashion designer...  

They are easily the most imaginatively original pieces that they make, and well worth the attention (and hype) they seem to receive fairly frequently.... Thanks a bunch for such an extensive pictorial report, I would not have otherwise seen it in such gre...

But the watch looks really big on many of the wrist shots, even though it is only 38.5 mm big, perhaps due to the way the strap is attached to the case. I don't really follow these Concept Watches but the very first one (CW 1) is quite interesting.

But the design is too far away from my personal taste, so I've never been seriously/personally interested in acquiring one of the references. Best, Emmanuel

I know the Concept is intended to be the most avant garde of the lineup - so seeing this more elegant implementation is a nice diversion. Hope there will be more next year when the Concept celebrates its next anniversary. Cheers Peter

Generally I’ve like the case design for this series, and this one seems to be in a smaller more wearable size which makes it interesting (in theory). What is less appealing is that it is “just a tourbillon”. LOL As for the intersection of fashion and watc... 

the only thing that matters is whether we like the watch or not, and I agree that this one isn't bad at all. It's just not my personal type of watch. There are other collaborations, like with Matthew Williams (1017 ALYX 9SM), which I didn't like at all, b... 

But my choice would still be a 15202 first series or a 39mm QP.

Its more a milking cow when you produce so much Limited Editions imo. . Not to bad looking but not something i would consider

With the Concept AP has an experimental line to go to the edge of inovation, technic and design. Of course this can not be mainstream and is not intended to become mainstream. It is about exploring new ground, cooperations with Artists, experimenting with...

...but all of these manufacturers spend time on collaborations and tie-ins...some make sense and some don't. It's tiresome for someone who just wants a nice watch...
