Royal Oak Offshore 42mm Date
Hi,
On some Royal Oak Offshore (mostly black themes, ref. 25721.ST), can anyone explain me why some date window are surrounded by grey color and other one are black ?

Most Offshores are or were fitted with the dark grey. Even silver dialed ones. Not every one though. On the watch you showed, my literature shows it with the dark shroud. Once, while having my old silver dialed 25770 serviced, I was told the original watc...

I did not know AP would accept such changes.... On other brands these details are huge for Purists ( service dial or typography etc.) , but with AP only the iconic 5402 get this extreme attention.... Not ROO for example.
In my case it was specific to that dial.
My understanding is AP will not alter original dial details. The silver dial 25770 was produced at the factory with the dark shroud. However, in AP's internal catalog for that watch, it is showed it with a silver shroud, so I was able to have it changed. ...
