Personally I would go with the Montoya over RB I

Of course, personal considerations override everything else - a personal connection to RB; the RBI being the first watch that piqued your interest in AP; etc.
But on the basis of the watch alone, the Montoya started the "evolution" of the ROOS that has resulted in the RBII, the Grand Prix, and even, arguably, the Survivor.
I do like the dial of the RBI, but I tend to prefer "special editions" to be a bit more than a unique dial with different colors or fonts.

Totally agree. I think the RB1 is not unique enough and I too prefer special editions to be well more.. Special! Though If it's the RBII then I think that over the Montoya.

Thanks for all your input. Ended up pending a little more and now have an RB2 TI instead - very happy! I will have to leave the Montoya and RB1 for another day. Dan
