Let's talk about our dream APs. While I love my 15300 to death, and am super satisfied with it, that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to own other APs! If money were no object, which AP would you choose to add to your collection? It's so hard for me to narrow...
In this case, RO Skeleton QP, for me. Come on, sister, Greediness is a constitutional right. so I add the Starwheel, too! Et voilà. ;) Kisses in the neck. Vlad.
RO Skeleton QP is very nice. I was not fully convinced by pictures, but in person -- WOW! The question is steel or platinum, really! I prefer the white metals over the yellow or rose gold for this model. xoxoxo, Daos
...the BOMB! :-) I cannot even imagine having a watch with a chrono, perpetual calendar, and repeater all-in-one. :-) The only misgiving I have about this piece, and it's understandable from a design perspective, is the size (44mm, I believe). For me, the...
Even my wife thinks that I need a bigger watch if I try on anything less than 40mm. The old Royal Oak was just too small for me but this years new model size looks good on me. It's a shame as there are some smaller watches that I really like.
...I think the solid dial is better. Then of course, there are days when I want to see all the little parts on both sides of the movement. Luckily (or unluckily) for me, my wallet precludes my need to make this decision at any point in the foreseeable fut...
That's my favorite and I'd wear it daily. Preferably during long nights at the office when one loses track of time and is reminded by the chimes. Assuming I don't dislike having to wind it.
The case says elegant sportiness, but the EOT complication is generally found on more classical dressy watches. :-) I like the push-pull effect of that. Cheers, Daos
I thought for sure you'd choose something a little sportier. :-) This is a beautiful watch, and I've always loved the ad campaign that AP has done for it. :-) Cheers, Daos
I know, Jerry. It's hard. I have long lusted after the Edward Piguet rock crystal tourbillon, and the Jules Audemars with AP Escapement, but I think my choice would ultimately get the most wrist time of the three. I don't know...some days I flip-flop back...
...from the recent collection. It's got this sort of macho/technical feel to it, but the case adds refinement. It's a beauty, and I definitely see the appeal. Another grail AP, for sure. Cheers, Daos
If you can dream it, you can do it! This is the one that was launched at SIHH 2011, right? I like that one better than the 2012 rose gold/forged carbon tourbillon chrono. :-) I hope your dreams come true! Cheers, Daos
...this is a pretty sweet piece. I love that AP does fantastic traditional finishing and construction, but is also at the cutting edge of materials and design. Your selection is a great example of AP turning the "ordinary" (if one can even imagine a minut...
We all dream of something unobtainable but to me the dream was an openwork skeleton from AP who excel in skeletons. So to me my 15305 is my dream piece which I can play with every day :) Great thread, Andy.
...across all brands in recent years is the 15305. It's a spectacular watch, and you are very fortunate to own one! Dreams do come true! Congrats! Cheers, Daos
I'll take any AP that has "Jules" in the name. Odds say it will be a well executed dress watch with class. Unless the dream is a nightmare. Then it would be some type of Royal Oak, especially an inane limited edition done in garish colors and named after ...
LOL! Sorry, but couldn't resist. I actually think the Montauk Highway makes for a fun, festive summertime watch. I enjoyed reviewing it a while back, and of all the watches I've reviewed, the general non-collecting public seemed to gravitate to this one t...
Robin's egg highlights? Never understood that watch, nor some of the other LE ROO's. I'll wait for the Cross Bronx or Schuylkill Expressway editions - offered in pollution brown with white stripes & asphalt black with yellow stripes.
I think I failed. For years I have said the the 15202 is the perfect AP and if I had to choose a dream AP it would have to be included, although I have two dream AP's. (sorry Daos) Something about the simplicity and something about the simple complexity. ...
One model only! LOL! Okay, I forgive you! They are fantastic choices and I know many, many people would consider it a dream to own either watch, but especially the one in the second picture! :-) Talk about understated elegance hiding something extraordina...
