In honor of a fellow Purist, some photos and thoughts on the RBII
I was thrilled to recently learn that the PuristSPro RBII club gained a new member. While I will let the gentleman decide if he wishes to post his wonderful acquisition, I will share some of my photos and thoughts on this legendary Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Rubens Barrichello II Limited Edition Chronograph (that is a mouthful!).
As I have mentioned in the past, it took me until last year to understand how special this watch is. And I think I am a somewhat seasoned AP enthusiast, but I had never held this watch in titanium before last summer. It did not take long after that live experience to decide I had to add this watch to my collection.
Amazing levels of detail on this watch, to be revisited soon in proper depth. It is hard declare what is most notable about this design, which speaks volumes of how intricate it is. Surely the ceramic bezel jumps out, the crown, the pushers, the guard assembly, the dial and hands... there I go already. Very easy to get carried away with this one.
Two AP Racers, face to face. And a personal reminder as to the watch that made the sacrifice to be replaced by the RBII.
Not to be forgotten, the high level of detail wraps around to the solid caseback.
Perfect on the wrist? No. I reserve that feeling for AP's wonderful Royal Oak 15202.
But powerful, captivating, exciting, thought provoking, and immensely enjoyable? YES.
A fan of the camera, this delightful RBII. And it has many good sides to capture
I fall in love with it again and again, even looking at my own photos. That sounds ridiculous, even to write it, but it is the truth.
And a reminder that soon I will enjoy a second winter with my sample. I expect it to be a companion for years to come.

One day, I definitely want to get into the details of this watch in more depth. It is completely deserving.
