To get a fliplock on this would indeed be difficult, as you'd have it have AP do it, and they will probably replace the whole buckle with a newer one from the 14790 series. I'm sure if you send it to AP they'll do that. If you're in mind doing it yourself I see these come up sometimes in auction sites....

If the watch is already presenting some problems, unless the price is very appealing, I would be careful going for it. There's always another watch that appears around the corner...
