First Royal Oak...

Hi there,

Well it's perfect sync : new forum, first RO !

Here is a photo of my first Royal Oak, a 14790ST model with the "old" black dial with the long baton markers.

I am mostly a Rolex enthusiast, but I must say that the RO is one of the very few watches that really caught my eye, apart from the famous Oysters. It is probably related to the fact that I like "round" dials on watches that are not exactly round in shape... The 14790 and Jumbo series are my favorite : everything is excellent about these watches. So I wanted a 14790 with the black dial, but not the new one as I prefered the one with long markers. I finally found this one, a 14790ST/O/0789ST/01 which is in a very near NOS state !

I also have a question that you probably have the answer to : when has the "old" black dial 01 been replaced by the new 09 one ? And also when exactly was the production of the 14790 stopped ? End of 2007 ?
