Audemars Piguet

Can you help me?

Michael, I just read your post about strap changing your roo. I bought one of the latest editions, red stopwatch hands, black dial, black alligator strap with r d stitching. last winter. Having a proper man sized wrist, I quickly realised I needed a larger strap which I bought for an exorbitant price from my local AP boutique. They kindly fitted it free, while I watched. You will be pleased to know you did it the correct way! My other reason for writing is that I live in the South of France - ie. Hot. I have quite a number of watches in my collection, but inevitably I like to wear each new addition on an almost daily basis for a while. The problem is that perspiration and leather don't really work, and I could see my beautiful strap becoming ruined. AP suggested a light dressing of olive oil to the inside which certainly preserves the leather, but over time it soakes through to the red stitching, turning it a dull off-red! Again I sought advice from my friendly AP boutique, and I bought an indelible red ink. pen, which seems to do the trick. Do you have any better ideas ? Thanks Tony
