I've seen that style called "pin and sleeve" and IIRC Omega uses it a lot

Pins in RO Bracelets?

I had not realized that the structure of the Royal Oak bracelet had changed until I watched a 15500 bracelet get resized for the first time yesterday. When did AP move from the "long screw" to the "screw and pin" style? Aaron

Don't know when...

But Patek Philippe did the same for the Nautilus a while ago. I really don't like pins.

Very disconcerting

It was very disconcerting when he unscrewed the screw and it was tiny. It seems like an overly complex system to me, but what do I know...

This AP system is better than Patek's system

Patek's system is the pin and hammer system, where a sleeve with a crimp holds the pin in place. I really don't like the pin and hammer system.

You're correct!

Omega does use it a lot. They're transitioning away from it. More to the screw and bar system. Like this AP.

No reason for concern.

I have sized and changed AP bracelets for over 20 years. The new design is A-OK.
