i've a dilemma of sorts...been looking at both the 40th Anniversary and the one before it. i can't seem to make up my mind on which one. maybe you guys can help me figure it out. if you were in my shoes,which one will you choose? TIA...

Just think it looks better. AP at 6, blue date wheel, new clasp etc. However, the old rotor has a following and is arguably the more decorative and appealing. cheers fernando ...

It is almost identical to the original 1972 Jumbo release, save for some details that a discerning eyecan spot on - among others the calendar date, the dial and the bracelet. If you can't wait, the pre 40th anniversary version is still ok. Good luck on th...

It has a shallower rehaut (the dial and hands are all but touching the crystal), a more attractive rotor (IMO, naturally), the now-classic "AP" deployant), a thinner bracelet (sorta the point with this watch), and in my case, the charcoal dial, which can ...  

I've recently seen the 40th anniversary model...and you're right about the rotor. It wasn't the same as the previous model,quite different. I'm waiting to have a look at the one with the blue dial before I decide.

I just acquired the 40th anniversary from the NYC boutique. I wanted a new watch with warranty and did not have the time or desire to conduct a proper search for the original. Both are beautiful and in an ideal world I would own both. Can't go wrong here ...  

And it does look like either one is a winner.

it will boil down to which one I guess you can get frst. All of them are very hard to come by nowadays esp the bnib 40th. good luck in your hunt

As I prefer the smaller case size, still not small at 39mm (I am developing a preference for 38, 38.5; 39mm watches), the rotor, etc as shared already below. Gary

37mm looks nice too...it doesn't wear too small and size is just right.
