They do interesting things with stamped dials now.

Let us know if you find some info on the new dial's manufacture!

The whole thing looks stamped to me 🙄

Also, is it me or is the AP logo like a decal or something? It's on a separate plate and the AP part is not cut out. Sorry, looks... Cheapened?

Yeah, on the 44 the "AP" letters were one piece but cut out right up against the outline of the letters instead of sitting on a bigger plate in top of the dial

 By: Fastwong : March 20th, 2021-07:49
That was IMO a more elegant solution. All the other Royal Oaks use that cut out AP. I don't mean to be a hater, I love the design and have often thought about picking up a ROO so it's frustrating to me that AP cheapens the model so much over the standard ...

This 44 dial and case does it for me

EXACTLY !! The high end watch industry is moving towards cheaper -more industrial -less time consuming -less hand made solutions Especially for the basic models. Just wait to see the new Nautilus . It is going to be towards this direction ,too. But prices...

From this dial pic you have drawn all these conclusions 🤔

A manufacture chrono is the cheap solution? Maybe wait to see the watch in person before arriving at such a harsh assessment?

Not only from this dial , my friend I am watching the course of the industry ( and especially AP ) in the recent years. Just look at the Royal oaks. In the beginning we had the 15300. Excellent movement with high- end look and hand made bevels on the brid...

Glad you approve of my 15300st ;)

Just wish this was a 45.5mm - 46mm watch.

If the dial is made on hand controlled guilloche machines, I think you would likely see a circular

Motion across the dial like on the 15202... And I think you would also need a large base metal plate where the dial design, that of which is to be transferred to a small dial, is stored on. Maybe that is a cost that AP does not want to embark on... See th...

Also, hand controlled machines, I would surmise, are expensive to run as it requires one person, to make one dial,

 By: K-Lo : March 20th, 2021-13:45
These stamped dials can be mass produced. One other thing, at least, is that AP has automated some guilloche techniques onto a computer, replicating hand guilloche, this is not stamping, but the process involves having a computer perform the circular moti...

I quite like the new design 👍
