Quincy Jones Millenary - why so cheap?
Hi all,
I must confess to being quite taken with the AP Millenary Quincy Jones. In my opinion, it's a genuinely beautiful design, from a highly desirable watch company.
It's also limited edition.
However, I am struggling with the fact that it is now very cheap - it can be bought new or LNIB from a reseller online for what must be 40-45% less than its retail price of $21400 USD.
Has this watch struggled in the market despite its celebrity endorsement and unique design?

" In my opinion, it's a genuinely beautiful design, from a highly desirable watch company " That's all that matters, I personally agree with you, its a fantastic piece, I would only change the strap to give it more of a contrast with the black case, for t...

but I don't think the Millenary has ever had the following that the RO Offshore or Royal Oak have, so I'm sure that affects its value/pricing. As for celebrity endorsement, I'd never buy a watch just because some celebrity is affiliated with the brand. I'...

If it should be a criteria to buy a watch that you don't see very often how can you recommend that someone buys a Rolex Daytona? BTW I have agreed with your patient advice recently.

I never said buying a watch one does not see often should be a criteria for purchasing a watch. I said," It can be a lot of fun to wear something not everyone else has rather than blending into a sea of more commonly seen watches." As for suggesting a ros...

No watch can be everything to everyone. I have always liked the Daytonas particularly the older ones, and I'll admit I am not that interested in their current line up. However, after trying on a current Daytona in rose gold with a black dial, IMHO its one...

I don't think there are any as you inquired "Perceived barriers against the Millenary QJ." I just think there is a stronger public interest in the ROO/RO. Its very rare to see a Millenary in the wild. In all the years its been on the market, I think only ...
