I don't see any problem here. This is not a pocket watch which if engraved would be much harder to get rid of it without damaging "originality" or "authenticity" which cause losses to the vintage lovers' community, LOL. Ken

The beauty of this is that one can always just replace the metal back with the standard crystal back if one should wish to do so.
