Not crazy at all. Rather, I say you made the right decision.
I find the 1st generation 1815 Chronograph to be the definitive version. The color combination is just sublime, and not repeated in subsequent iterations. Congratulations and welcome!
I’m with you on this.
I would lean towards the earlier / first generation too. It’s a lot of watch for the money. These days $50k is the new $20k (maybe even the new $15k) and so by comparison I think this watch offers great “value”. “Value” may not be the best choice of words...

I think the consensus here will be this watch purchase is absolutely justified.
Assuming you can still pay your mortgage / rent ! Food, well, you don’t need that much. 😂

Welcome and thanks for joining us! Definitely not a mistaken purchase.
Lange dramatically changed the look of the 1815 Chrono over time, and people have different preferences. Lange went from a busier (Gen1) dial, to a less busy dial, and then back to a busier version. That says something.
A great watch will always be a great watch...
