Both these models were my first ever introduction to Lange in a German magazine in a Zurich hotel room a few days after 9/11. My life was never the same again horologically...

Seeing it caused a fundamental change. I remember like it was yesterday how excited I was to meet a fellow enthusiast in the lobby of a New York City office building and finally take possession of a rose gold example.

In those days, a Grand Lange 1 was high in my wish list... until I tried one on and realized that I prefer the standard Lange 1.
