if we go in detail. Some collectors may prefer the original one, because it is original. Some connoisseurs for whom it is very important how it feels on the wrist may have a serious weakness for the new one - less top-heavy. Some may be interested in the additional power reserve, some may be interested in the power reserve indication ...
At the end it is a matter of personal priorities and taste. In the past I loved the old one for what it is, but never bought one - for several reasons. If I would buy one today I would probably go for the new one, because it feels more comfortable on my wrist. The latter is VERY important for me.

Good luck with your decision. It is not an easy one, but a nice one in any case

Original Datograph owner, I prefer watches sub 40mm as well as I like the Roman numerals on the original. Although the new Dato does have its attributes I find their is a lot of open space on the dial which I don't like. I would really suggest trying both...
