RG is definitely rarer
403.031 was made for a shorter period of time. Not a ton of them out there. The extent to which rarity matters is an interesting question to me, when we're comparing otherwise identical watches (which in this case aren't really identical, since the weight is so different, etc.).

RG if I didn’t care, PT because I do.
So many of us have chosen the PT because of practical factors. But I’ve always thought the RG were more attractive.
Could flip a coin. Both are exceptional.
In general, I prefer PT (and YG and WG) to RG. But if I already had several PT pieces, then I might opt for the RG/black dial version in this case.

It is an interesting question indeed.
The rose gold with white dial appears to be similarly rare, but is not as sought after as the more common platinum version, or its black dial sibling.
