Patrick is correct, according to an UK article Ferrari's peak production was in 2007, 6,465 cars made. With the new model line like the California, it won't surprise me if the number over the long run goes up slowly because of new markets are opening up for them (i.e. China). But like Ferrari's chairman always says, they will always build one unit less than demand
And yes, Ferrari pretty much sells every car they can produce, maybe not in 2008, but normally it pretty much sells itself.
But back to Lange watches, Lange builds so few watches a year relative to other bigger manufacturers to begin with, and with very high demand of its watches out of Asia, it's hard enough for those of us in the US to get reasonable allocations, especially with those limited edition pieces. Now with so many new models and extension of existing model lines coming out, it would be even harder to get the exact piece that one might want. Good watchmakers take years to train and develop, so it's not like all of a sudden Lange can churn out 50% more pieces even if we want it to. But the main thing is that we are buying these watches because we love the way it looks, its design, workmanship, quality, etc. Not everything in life must be an investible asset.
