Just today, my Lange 1 went on the fritz again...I was pulling out the crown to reset the time after winding it up from empty. The power reserve then snapped from full to empty. After talking to Alkis on the phone, I had to ship it back to him for repairs. This is the second time this has happened in 3 months; Alkis fixed it (temporarily) last time.
Am I doing something to abuse my Lange 1?? I only wear it about every other day to work (at a relatively sedentary job). I store it on its side in a safe when I'm not wearing it (crown down to compensate for its rate). I wind it up clockwise direction only when the power reserve gets near zero. After I feel resistance at the full mark, I turn it back counter-clockwise not once but 3 times for good measure.
Anyone else with this problem? I sure hope I didn't end up with a lemon of a watch...that would really discourage me from any more Lange purchases. Even though the work is under warranty, it's still a lot of trouble to ship back a watch every several months for breakdowns.
Bummer...
