... the fact that it runs slowly over night might have someting to do with the low power reserve of 36h and the combined big date.

The date change over night might cause the drop in PR ( because of some technical fault, maybe ) and that results in loosing time...

 

Just a speculation, BUT it would be GREAT to hear again from you if the service has been done and an explaination was given, too !!!

 

PS: as beautiful, iconic and brilliant the Dato is, my concern with it and the chrono was always the low PR combined with 21.000 beats/minute, and the hefty price of course for the Dato smile !

Although I favor Lange as the top brand in the watch world, a watch that showes such a problem after 4 years is not really reassuring.

BUT, it is certainly a single experience, an individual incident !

I need some help from members regarding my Pt Datograph. The watch is about 4 years old and I am currently traveling with it. It works perfectly during the day when I have it on but at night when I take it off, it loses time and in the morning is about 10... 

First check if it hasn't been magnetized...

Because 10 minutes per 12 hours ( even per week! ) is not normal at all, of course. It is such an impressive outcome that I would first check if your watch has not been magnteized. Ask to any watchmaker, before. If not, I fear it is time for a service... ...

Thanks very much for that. I did not think of the watch being magnetized since I have no problems when I wear it during the day. However, I think you're right - its time for service as I have never sent it in yet.

I think, a service in Glashütte is the best way to find out what´s wrong with the beautiful Datograph. Especially after four years of constant wearing the fine watch. When the Datograph is back it will be like new. Regards! Sascha

Thanks for the message. I was wondering as well why it does not lose time on my wrist during the day but only at night. I figured the power reserve was not adequate for some weird reason. Unfortunately this implies a bigger problem than the watch being ma...

putting the clock slightly tilted to one side and see if the delay increases or decreases the morning after. if it were magnetized would lose time all day long, you can always try to reload it before storing. I agree it's time to have a service.

Magnetized watches run faster, normally...
