Regarding L1's with solid vs. transparent backs ... Lange's very first catalog and price list (dated October 1994) offered only solid casebacks for the Lange 1. The October 1995 price list then offered both options, solid or transparent caseback. I'm not sure if Lange accommodated very early customers (in 1994) who said, "Can you deliver my Lange 1 with a transparent back like you use on the Pour le Merite?"
