I recently purchased a pre-owned 1st Gen Datograph (L951.1). I've always read how "buttery smooth" the pushers feel. However, the pushers on my Datograph do not seem to feel that way. Rather, I feel a slight give in the pusher, followed by a clear resista... 

I have a 1st generation Datograph and like you I purchased it second hand. The start/stop and reset pushers are very easy and smooth to operate and from previous comments I read and heard about that is how they should feel. I strongly suggest you take it ... 

This is my first high end chrono and was not sure how it should feel. I guess I was expecting it to feel like a very soft push and return; similar to those spring loaded keys on older computer keyboards. Thanks for the responses.
