A. Lange & Söhne

First experiences, first impressions with

my Lange1!

Gents, here are my first, very short and subjective impressions with the ICON of all the Langes:

Dial: very clean and clear, easy to read, beautiful big date, clever power reserve indicator, without disturbing the whole concept of the dial. The location of the decentralized dial, the little second, the big date and the power reserve indicator harmonized very well to each other, without making the dial too busy!

Strap, buckle, comfort:

Love the colour of the strap, very comfortable to wear, you won't see any signs of wear ( sweat, etc. ) at the inner side. The buckle is relative simple but clever: the double lashing point of the buckle prevents the watch from any accident ( fall down, etc. ).

Movement:

Surprisingly, my watch goes much more longer as officially described: instead of the 72 hours ( 3 days ) my watch worked for more than 100 ( !! ) hours, also more than 4 days each time as I wounded up fully ( first 101 hours, second 103 hours ).
I messed 5-6 seconds gain on the first day, than 0 on the second day, again 5-6 seconds but this time in minus on the third, and about 20 second minus on the fourth day. Only the last result sounds not so good, but if I see the fact, that the watch shouldn't have worked at all on the fourth day, it is still better than not to work at all!

The decoration is perfect and typical Lange ( Glashuette ): 3/4 Platine, blued screws, screwed gold chatons, engraved swanneck-regularor, etc, etc.

Functionally disturbs me only one issue: the indicator of the power reserve is not linear, after the first day the hand of the power reserve already falled down 2 units ( it was at the middle of the whole indicator ), the next day only one unit, and at the two following days only half unit per day! ( I hope my watch works perfectly and it is a general phenomenon for every Lange with power reserve indication. )

Overall, it is a great watch with perfect simmetry, size, quality, a timeless classic of the haute horology!

Yours,

Adam
