Like Fx, I must admit being a moderator is risky! I have been looking at the Lange 1 photo contest's photos to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Lange 1.... And as you guessed it, got poisoned by the watch!! I evaluated various editions and I prefer a...

That's why we had it there Oliver! :) But agree they don't go very well with champagne indeed - too much sweets :) Agree on the Lange 1 esp in RG. It's not discontinued, it's not rare, it's not LE. I am sure pieces like the platinum Darth Lange 1 is much ... 

The only thing that kept me away so far, is the fact that the side of the cases from Lange are always shiny instead of matt finished like in white metal. It is just not me :-(

I also noticed that. The WG and Platinum and Honey Gold all have brushed finished sides on the case. Can't remember YG but RG is all mirror polish. I am not sure if the reason is to prevent oxidation of the RG or something - someone mentioned to me mirror...

I have always loved the original Lange 1 in RG followed by YG. I never cared much for the other versions of this iconic timepiece. I always believe that the first and most simple versions of a timepiece are usually the best. Wear it in the best of health....

Hi Robin, I have read many of your postings on the JLC forum and aware of your impressive collection. The JLC MUT Perpetual is impressive and this Lange 1 is just spectacular ! Wonder in your opinion, which would make a better daily office wear, the Lange... 

Thank you for your kind words on my collection. For the Lange 1, a more comparable version to the pp 5146 will be the Lange 1 moonphase I feel. Anyway I think the Lange 1 is a more suitable daily office watch being a simpler watch IMHO. Also I much prefer...  

Indeed I am considering the Lange 1 MP which is priced within the range of a PP5146. The photo of your Lange 1 placed side by side with the PP5146 does highlight the simplicity and beauty of the Lange 1 dial. Not that the PP is inferior in any way, it's c... 

Let us know what you go for eventually! Both the Lange 1 mp and PP 5146 are great pieces. I think the 5146 is priced slightly higher though being an annual calendar. Cheers Robin

I would have loved to get a L1 also before there are no left but my budget ... . Anyhow: yes the L1 mp is also gorgeous and "funny" to see that you considered it also. To me the L1 mp looks complete, but the L1 is certainly without the mp THE L1. Enjoy in...
