I've always been attracted to blue hands on a dress watch. Something
about the combination of blued hands against a white/silver dial just
speaks to me.
And I like Langes. Unfortunately, my budget had only allowed me one so far, an 1815 which I love dearly.
Lange
1's with blue hands aren't so common on the market, and the ones more
frequently encountered are the YG ones with blued hands.
The
WG/blue hands edition was tougher to find as not many were made. I longed for one, but
they were out of production, and seldom came up pre-owned.
It seemed my lust for
this 101.027X was destined to remain unconsummated...
... until one day in Aug when Ianny messaged me to tell me he had found one in Tokyo!
In
a fever of anticipation, I emailed the seller, and after some
to-and-fro, I paid for the watch. Coincidentally, we had booked our
family holiday to Japan so I was able to collect the watch
personally in Nov.
This Lange 101.027X was truly amazing in the
metal. On the way back from the shop in Ginza, I could not resist
multiple wristshots, no doubt puzzling many Japanese shoppers.
