1815 F A Lange 200th Anniversary
Ferdinand Adolph Lange was born in 1815 and after 200 years, A Lange & Sohne introduced a model to celebrate the legendary watchmaker's 200th Anniversary. As to be expected, 200 pieces of the limited edition was made in platinum. This came in a case dimension of 40 mm, somewhat bigger than the latest 1815 productions. Also, it featured a stepped bezel, instead of the usual rounded edges.
The watch feels very solid and durable on the wrist and uses the manual winding L051.1 caliber that generates a power reserve of 55 hours. After the watch was introduced in February 2015, a honey gold version - also in 200 pieces - was launched later that year at the Watches and Wonders Exhibition, this time with a white dial. Both versions were quickly sold out.
This simple, elegant, subtle and exceptionally finished watch had turned out to be the perfect tribute to someone who created some of the most astonishing timepieces in the wonderful world of horology.
