I'd stick with the older, more common single-fold deployant for the models you're considering. The butterfly deployant is much thinner and flimsier looking, due largely to the large holes. I think the butterfly deployant looks fine with smaller, thinner, ... 

I think as Fx reviewed last year legibility may be an issue and Long term I think the L1 MP will only grow on you. It's a modern classic. I think I'd prefer the calendar for a few months and then regret I didn't choose the icon L1MP from there on. Buy wha...

I feel the price gap between both is quite big and the functions are also not quite on par. The Daymatic however is just in the middle. If it should be a business watch then the Daymatic will suit the purpose very well. Best Moritz

I love it!!! Mac, I re-read your post as well. Unlike the Datograph in platinum which is very top heavy (you do get somewhat used to the weight as time goes on) the Lange 1 MP does not wear that way at all. I hardly notice the watch on my wrist when I wea... 

Also, glad you mention the Datograph. I have tried one on a few times. It is a work of art, but not a watch I can comfortable wear. The comparison is very helpful.

As you can see they wear around the same size on your wrist.......... What makes the Datograph top heavy and the Lange 1 MP not is that little chapter ring on the back of the case. The MP doesn't have that extra ring, also the Datograph feels substantiall...

Maybe you can find the differences doing a search on these forums but I think the new movement has a little longer power reserve which really doesn't make that much of a difference to me neither would the new day/night indicator as much as finding the bes...
