You would need to change the hands as well...

The minutes and seconds hands on the new model is shorter than the old model (to accommodate the pulsometer scale).  So it wouldn't just be a simple dial swap...

Would Lange "upgrade" a dial during servicing?

 By: Saturninus : February 21st, 2018-21:53
I bought an 1815 Chronograph a few years ago, before Lange reverted back to the dial with the pulsometer scale on the Boutique Edition. Like most people, I bought it for the view of the movement, and so I got a rose gold version with the plain dial. Havin...

That's a great question.

I imagine you could email Lange directly and get an answer within a few days. I've been really impressed with some brands' response times to my inquiries. I was less patient than you and sold my G2 white gold and have an incoming back dial pulsometer so I...

Ouch 100 typos .... wine. [nt]

I see your point

but i think i wouldn't mind a frankenwatch if it had all the attributes I was looking for. I like the look in rose gold, I prefer the polished sides, and i think the pulsometer scale adds character. But one can only get 2 out of 3 of those without modific...

That's the key as long as you love it go for it.

If Lange won't do this for you you can always try a trade plus if you can live with the case finishing difference. Best of luck

If they did, that would be a very personalised and welcome service. Interested to know!

However, I reckon it may not be doable or at least, explicitly publicised by the brand perhaps for record/documentation purpose of their sold models/serial numbers, subtle changes beyond the dial that may need modification for consistency (eg new rose gol...

I do not think that Lange will offer a dial exchange

Just a feeling, without any experience or knowledge about a similar case like yours. Lange is interested in selling the complete new watch and not parts of a new watch.

Back in the old days they did but not anymore

you could only downgrade. So I’d you had a platinu Lange 1, you could get the dial or hands form a gold lange1. But not the other way around. I think they stopped doing that more than 10 years ago. So I’m afraid the answer will be « no ». But you always c...

Will it turn into a Frankenwatch?

When a modified watch will be sold second hand, will it raise doubts?

Would be curious to know too.

To my understanding Patek do offer this (eg changing 5711 dials) so would be nice if Lange did too.

It’s only when you have a watch service and you don’t want a swap that they change it!

“Murphy’s Law” we call it. I had my GO overhauled and it needed hands - they suggested a dial too so I said yes. I didn’t know the service dial wasn’t exactly the same as the original until it was too late. Same happens with Rolex regularly. But if you as...

I don’t know the answer to your question, but

I wouldn’t fret about getting the new dial. Your existing dial is very elegant in its simplicity, and not everyone would prefer the pulsometer markings, which aren’t known for their practical usefulness ...

Agreed.. I for one prefers the simplicity and clean look of the non-pulsometer version...

I find that the non-pulsometer version retains more of the character and DNA of the 1815 family, i.e without trying to look too much like its older brother (the Datograph). On a side note, the word "chronograph" on the dial of the pulsometer versions look...

I agree with the sentiments here...

...it is unlikely that Lange would offer a dial change at a customer's request at servicing. I do think, however, that several years down the road, after the pulsometer versions have been in production for awhile, Lange might be more amenable to the reque...

the answer is no.

Sadly, this type of change can't be performed because you change one reference to another one. Fx
