The hammers and gongs are on the front, so no hint of the minute repeater from the back side. I found it a bit disappointing, acoustically, and my preference goes to the simpler Zeitwerk. The hammers and the gongs kill the aesthetics of the dial, for me. ...

Just last week I've had a chance to size Zeitwerk Striking Time in RG and the first thing which "struck" me was how underwhelming the strike sound was. I love the whole concept and design of the watch, it's just my experience with Striking Time has me zoo...
Saw a video of this recently, I do agree the sound was not the greatest.
The back side is fantastic though!

I'd gladly take this off anyone's hands if they are disappointed with the sound.

I have not heard this one, but I thought I read that the gold version of the MR was louder? I would happily take the base or striking, as the gongs do add a visual impact to the dial and actually “do something”...
Agree with your observation, I had the opportunity to play with it and I was very disappointed by the acoustics and the volume.
I say let’s live the repeaters to Patek, JLC and AP... in this order...
