a decade ago, I had a similar dilemma but with the 1815 up down and VC traditionelle small sec - both in wg.
I couldn’t make up my mind as I liked both, but I was always seeing them apart at different AD’s.
Until one time an AD had both pieces and it was a no-brainer for me at that time. The 1815 up down I liked more as I felt much more was happening on the dial (also more color) so that decision was made.
Never ended up with the up down also, haha, due to a new 1815 release from Lange which I bought.
If it’s possible see them side by side. I think that will also help a lot.
At the end …. Both are very nice brands and watches.

I will heed your advise and try to see them both side-by-side. May not be possible though now a days since both brands are boutiques only where I am.

But it's between two Langes. The watch you mentioned 380.027 is a gorgeous piece in my opinion. You really can't go wrong with either. 38.5mm is a very nice size.
