as you will see here. There are many passionate members and each of us has their reason for the choice. For me, it was the 2nd generation. Something about the cleanliness of the dial did it for me (then again, I also own a 2nd generation dato).
For context, I got the 2nd generation 1815 after the 3rd generation came out - same with the dato: I compared both side by side before making the choice.
Bottom line: there is no wrong answer here. Just listen to yourself, sleep on it, and let your passion decide!

They’ve never let me down, wonderful timepieces. Although I don’t own this reference specifically, I actually prefer the dial aesthetics of the second generation most. Good luck and keep us posted! 👍🏻
1815 chrono is an all time classic

For me also a cleaner dial and more than anything, I prefer the thinner case vs Datograph
