Reflections on Lange 1
Hi Lange fans,
Well, along with the tiny flaw on my Lange 1 that was fixed in the most timely manner, Alkis also installed a reflective crystal on the watch...
I am a big fan of the dynamic nature of lighting conditions' effects on a watch dial (think Rolex, certainly) and so I asked the good Alkis to do this for me.
The non-reflective L1 black dial is exquisite, and emphasizes the astonishing detail that Lange is renowned for. However, I really am 'turned on' by the 'glare' and 'haze' of a reflective crystal. (CHEAP DATE!

These pics express some of the effect of a reflective crystal, but what I would say in words is that it gives a more unpredictable, less always-pure-black-dial effect.... more to come.....

...are an excellent reminder of one of the more puzzling decisions out of ALS: the black background date window looks so 'right' on the 'Darth' - why oh why was it not employed on the other black dial Lange Ones? Cheers, pplater.
