Patina on a yellow gold Lange

May 18, 2023,12:44 PM

Hello, friends - wanted to share my up & down bought in 2015 that started to show some patina. The watch is not as blingy as it was and there is clear patination especially on the lugs and buckle. I do not mind this, I think this adds some vintage charm, but certainly this is not an advertized feature smile) What's your take on this?

I am also curious about proprietary 22K YG from Charles Frodsham - but the pricing and waiting period are considerable.

I have been wishing, hoping, that my yellow gold Langes would turn orange like that. Several years ago, I asked people for advice about how to hasten that process and started looking into things like liver of sulfur. I was going to experiment on a spare b...

This can be a good thing or a bad thing ... here is a watch I obtained from a friend who didn't want it -- he didn't like its thinness and patina. I just wiped it gently with a jeweler's cloth (they are infused with a gentle polishing compound) and it shi...
