Langematik or Saxonia ?
We all know that the Langematik is no longer in the Lange catalogue replaced by the Saxonia automatic.
During the Salon Belles Montres, the young watchmaker was wearing a good old WG Langematik. This gave me the opportunity to compare it with the Saxonia.
The dial:
The dial of the Saxonia is very pure but maybe it lost the german style of the Langematik. The big 12 gives to the Langematik an original touch. You will notice the luminous hands of the Langematik and the blued second hand. The hands of the Saxonia are very classy.

Caliber :
Both calibers are very similar, almost identical. The 3/4 rotor made heavier by the platin part is totally gorgeous.

Wristshots :
Very surprisingly, despite the fact that the Saxonia has a larger diameter (40mm) than the Langematik (37mm), I had the same pleasure on my wrist. It's due to the fact that both watches are perfectly balanced. Of course, we may prefer the larger size of the Saxonia, more up-to-date. But the Langematik has its own charm too.

Conclusion:
Both watches are great. On one hand, we have the character of the Langematik. On the other hand, we have the refinement of the Saxonia. I think I would choose the Saxonia at the end. Because the combo PG case / grey dial is gorgeous and because I prefer its larger size.
I would like to thank the young Lange watchmaker who lent me his watch.
