Ok, let me explain my point
There is nothing wrong with a gold watch
There is nothing wrong with many models
There is nothing wrong with me not liking all of them
What troubles me:
Seiko sits on argueably one of the top 5 dive watch legacies, which is an opportunity and a responsibility.
The latest line is called sportsstyke but in my opinion has neither sport (lack of spec) nor style (just look at the weird design details of the example).
I consider myswlf well aware of the modification scene. The new Seiko 5s look like they are trying to copy a best of off the mods, but in a cheap, uninspired and unreflected way.
At first I was proud when I saw that some official Seiko accounts started following me on insta - now I am not so sure anymore.

I have no problem with this...
It is just a gold Seiko (Au950, plated or rolled gold doesn’t matter) - just like a gold Nautilus or a gold Rolex. Or it is because IT IS a Seiko and not a Patek or a Rolex that draws the feedback. Frankly, it is a typical Seiko - nothing new there.
