Blancpain

I ended up purchasing one of my grail watches. It all started a few years ago when I came across the Moeris Bathyscaphe - there was something about the design of the watch and the smaller size that really spoke to me. I was about the pull the trigger when I found out the dial and bezel had radium paint. I know this is not an issue for some but for me, it's a no go zone. 

When I came across this 35-37mm Fifty Fathoms No Radiations, it drove me absolutely nuts. I was lucky enough to have Blancpain give me some guidance on the authenticity of the watch via email/images. Note: they did say they could not guarantee the authenticity without evaluating the watch in-person but what I provided them was enough to say it was authentic from afar. 

So here she is!! I have to say, it might be my favourite watch in my collection at the moment - and I usually hate date complications but for this, I don't mind at all. 

And now on my a couple of questions for the experts on the forums...(if you all don't mind) 

1) Has anyone sent their vintage watch in to Blancpain for an authenciation/verification check? DId this cost anything? (I did ask this question to Blancpain but didn't get a direct answer) 

2) Although I completely intend to keep the watch as-is, one area I'm worried about is the crystal. There are tiny hair/stress fractures that I can't seem to polish out with Polywatch. Would this cost an arm and a leg at Blancpain? 

(note: I'm kindly asking everyone here because I've been notified by Blancpain that the wait times for service is 8 months currently...so before I send my watch in for 8 months, I'd like to know what I'm getting into)
