I was in Parma and I've seen that watch ...

Hi everybody,
today I was in Parma and I've seen this watch in the real (finally because I saw it only by pic before)
I used a good loupe and analyzed the dial.
It is my opinion that there are not signs to let me think it is repainted or refinished.
It has an evident particularity: the minutes indeces of minutes 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33 overhang the inside of the sub seconds dial. You see something like this at 12 o'clock too where indeces are very close to applied 12 number.
This, I would say, is a particularity, because it has the radial indexes like a type 2 dial (that we know has a little sub seconds dial) but it is in all other details a type 1 dial.
Patek Phiippe and Amagnetic writings are coherent to a type 1 dial too.
I came across such a kind of particularity, actually the opposite one, some time ago when I listed type 2b dial that has little subseconds dial and no radial minutes indeces.
I'm going to add this "paticular" type of dial in future release of my study probably as type 2c or 1b
Is up to the reader (collector, dealer or potential buyer) to make their own opinion about it.
Any suggests by Patek Philippe itself will be much appreciated.

Ciao
Marco

......do you know the reputation of the owner....does it have its papers......etc etc But from teh scan, it looks lovely. Probably a 2nd series 3417.........can't be 100% without seeing it though

Saw it at a very reputable Italian dealer from London. I know him since years, so I fully trust that the watch is ok.

My only fear is that it is too small for me on the long run.

What, 34 mm? [nt]

Well, depending on the wrist and outfit it should look great! I'd only change the strap to a black one. ๐Ÿ˜‰

wears big....

......i have an Explorer 1 that is actually bigger by 1mm but appears much smaller. The 3417 wears on the larger side........

Superb! If everything is ok, go for it

LoL. I have been discussing this watch with a friend. I saw a similar dilemma. Much to suggest a type 1 but also elements of a type 2. If I had to jump, I would say Mk1 variant as that would conform more to the serial and movement number. But 60% only pro...

Movement number: 730.11x (cal. 27AM400) Case number: 2.618.17x They are coherent for a type 1 dial The dealer has a Patek Extract from the archives
