Use of solid caseback from grand complications

For those of you with grand complications, like my very own 5270G, are any of you actually using the solid caseback on the watch? What uses for the solid caseback have you found? Or is yours just collecting dust in the box? Anyone get theirs engraved? I’d...

Don't have a GC but...

...I like the idea of putting the solid back on once in a while. It gives the watch a bit of mystery...only you know what's inside. Kind of why I like platinum...most people will assume it is stainless or white gold at best.

If you have a screwback like on eg the 3970 you can just take a small rubber ball and unscrew it to change it yourself.

As long as you don’t have two left thumbs it is a very easy task. Just keep a steady hand when the back is off before you have switched so you do not touch the movement.

I would not be overly nervous (have done it myself)

But keep a close eye not to mess up anything. Dust is probably not a problem in a normal home environment.
