Static - the results

Dear Friends,

to be a judge in a competition like this is an honor for me.
But this decision was a tough one.
So many different beautiful watches of all ages in very nice pictures...!

But finally here´s my choice:

My first price goes to: Alain 2701 and his Minerva 13-20CH.

I picked this one for almost the same reasons like Magnus did. A very nice and old watch. And i like the composition of the picture and the quality of the shot very much. Congratulations Alain!

The second place goes to:  Dr. No and his rectangular Omega.
Also a very nice composed shot. And i really like old rectangular watches like that one.

I was also pleased by two other watches/pics.

Very interesting and a mention worth is Tim Jacksons Bernex from 1944-45. I like watches with an own long history. Especially the caseback of Tim´s Bernex with all the different watchmaker signs added over decades on it. It shows the long history of this watch.

And, out of competition because he was a little to late,  Mike H and his stunning pocket repetition.

Look at this beautiful handcrafted dial! Awesome pics of an awesome watch!

Cheers!

Sascha

Alain's Minerva represents more than age, it's from a critical period when the market started shifting from traditional pocket watches to wristwatches as we know them. This piece perfectly captures that pivitol moment in history. The strap, the case, even...
