And one more thing I'll bet this watch comes with a Certificate - - a Certificate of Accomplishment, that is, having hit as many as seven franken steps to put this thing together. Another, more sinister example...
This Italian offering mimics a very desirable sub-seconds automatic of the early 1950s. The movement is the correct caliber 498, but the case number is entirely nonsensical. And, of course, there is the dial ;-)...
And here is something more subtle...
This is a very nice late 1940s steel watch that is complete except for one unusual problem... Note the position of the applied "dot" index at 9 o'clock. While the seller acknowledges the flaw, he insists it is the original dial. My experience is that such...
