Absolutely stunning dials

And on the date issue, I agree with you. On the annual calendar, it needs to have a date and actually a big date would have cut into that lovely dial more, so I like the small date,. On the Classico, there was no need for the date.
I have talked to brands and they have said "well, the movement has the date embedded, so we have to include the date" --- I used to have a Breitling 38mm tribute piece to the vintage models, stunning watch, 25 made only, and for that they "covered up" the date (regular edition had the date, both had the same movement). The crown still pulled out 2 positions, but the first for the date did nothing (the date wheel literally did move underneath, but since it was covered up you coudlnt see it). I wonder if UN and other brands should do the same - still use the same movement, crown still pulls out 2, but just cover up the date in some models to make them nicer while being able to use the same movement!
