and live in the US and get the international warranty card, Rolex USA may also want to see a bill of sale with your name on it also from the overseas AD. Buying gray market from a third market vendor make cause you a problem for warranty repairs.  I just bought a new Rolex and it had a warranty issue. It does not happen often but with anything mechanical problems can occur.

What's happening if I don't buy from an official Rolex retailer? I can see the rolex warranty card is given with the box and papers etc. It's brand new and it's from Pluswatch (Italy) However when I try to lookup this shop on the Rolex website I can't fin... 

I am not sure as I tend to go vintage.

that means, as you seem to appreciate, it has not moved through normal Rolex channels. So this seller bought it from a Rolex dealer that had too many for its allocated area, came from outside the trading zone you are in, or for some other reason that does...

Yeah indeed it was a bit more than just a quick question though. Thanks a lot for all these details. I asked the seller to send me a copy of the warranty card and he told it is from a boutique called Festuccia rolex terni which appears on the Rolex websit...

Where did you buy it from? Mine is from a seller in Italy. I bought a jlc from him already and I had to take it to a jlc boutique in London and feared a little that the warranty does not work though...but it did work thanksfully.
