An oasis in the heart of an urban environment.

I was quite surprised to find out about this place that was opened in 2006. I think photography has made me more adventurous in seeking out new and interesting locations to explore, whether they are just around the corner or further afield. A good way to keep from being too sedentary. smile
Cheers

My first time....

to visit Nan Lian Garden in the heart of urban Kowloon; so I literally felt like a tourist, with a camera in hand. The location which is adjacent to the Chi Lin Nunnery is a truly beautiful, colourful and scenic place with a tranquil and serene atmosphere...

What a beautiful place.....

I'm probably influenced by the green side of your shots but I love how some of them look like a "formal garden" (very symmetrical) and the other ones more to an English-style garden. Really interesting. Best wishes Alkiro

I can't imagine how many gardeners work there

and it so peaceful... in the heart of... The combination of nature and structures, I like the roofs and bridges... That last B&W has a nice feel... Interesting how we find new to us locations in our neighborhood if we take the time ; )

You capture what I assume is it's central aspect-peacefulness.

Yes, a very relaxing and tranquill environment.

I believe its part of the Chi Lin Nunnery and visitors are expected to maintain a respectful attitude. Admission is free and there is also a quality vegetarian restaurant on the grounds; something I might try on my next visit.
