My first time....

to visit Nan Lian Garden in the heart of urban Kowloon; so I literally felt like
a tourist, with a camera in hand. The location which is adjacent to the Chi Lin Nunnery
is a truly beautiful, colourful and scenic place with a tranquil and serene atmosphere.
The Tang-style landscaped Chinese garden of classical elegance is based on the blueprint of
the famous Jiangshouju Garden in Shanxi Province.
Here are some of the photos, which were taken with my new camera (M10).
It's not a comprehensive coverage of the whole area as I realized later that I
had missed part of it and also certain sections were off limits to photography.
Hope you enjoy the scenery.
Lotus pond.
The Pavilion of Absolute Perfection ("Golden Pavilion") and Zi Wu Bridge
Two in B&W.
Thanks for looking.

I'm probably influenced by the green side of your shots but I love how some of them look like a "formal garden" (very symmetrical) and the other ones more to an English-style garden. Really interesting. Best wishes Alkiro

An oasis in the heart of an urban environment.

I was quite surprised to find out about this place that was opened in 2006. I think photography has made me more adventurous in seeking out new and interesting locations to explore, whether they are just around the corner or further afield. A good way to ...

I believe its part of the Chi Lin Nunnery and visitors are expected to maintain a respectful attitude. Admission is free and there is also a quality vegetarian restaurant on the grounds; something I might try on my next visit.
