Chopard watches went bigger to accomodate more complications and legibility. However, they did not chase the Big fad like Panerai and Audemars Piguet. Strangely, the ladies like larger Chopard XL watches as fashion statements with "real estate" potential ...

I'm fairly certain the Royal Oak Offshore launched long before the "Big fad", and Panerai watches are historically large.

37 mm isn't too small, provided I wear it under a long-sleeve shirt cuff.
On a bare arm, or with sleeves rolled up, it is a bit too small. 38.5 mm would be a better all-around size. So I wear a 37 mm dress watch usually only with long sleeve shirts. Lovely Chopard you have there. A great synthesis of modern and classic styling....

When it was a simple time-only watch line, the size may have been fine. As more complications were developed, more case volume was needed. Chronographs and Perpetual Calendars need more dial area for displays and striking grand complications need the air ...
Hopefully Chopard doesn't go too far to the other side of 40 mm for the dressier pieces.
Time only, or time and date, would be nice on the underside of 40 mm...
