So, I promised something cool

While here in Cannes, I got to have dinner with Mr. Infante (very nice person, btw) and he showed me some nice items that I thought you might like to see.

First is my LUC 150 next to Mr. Scheufele's own prototype no. 1 striking repeater. As has been pointed out in an earlier review, this watch is amazing. The monopusher, the sound...it's an incredible piece. I have some videos but I don't have a YouTube account (yet) so I can't post them at this time, but this is a piece that Chopard is understandably proud of. It's so wearable (especially compared to my "sandwich", which apparently is the popular nickname for the LUC 150)...in fact I would say it's even lighter and thinner than the Lunar One PC.

Here's a closeup of the front,

And of the back. Number P1!

Second, the Chopard PC chrono, this particular version as you can see, has been bling'd the heck out. Not really my style, but in all honesty, I'm kind of coming around to the diamonds in the bezel fashion. I used to have a visceral hatred of it, but now I get it.

I also took videos of this watch, because the movement had some incredible features you should see in action. The ability to reset the seconds hand to 0:00 while the crown is out is awesome and the speed of the flyback mechanism is stunning. I was looking hard at a Lange Datoperpetual before, but after playing with the '03 movement on the Chopard PC Chrono, I think I've found my next watch.

Chopard's customer service was amazing for our entire time in Cannes, and I can't emphasize enough that it's these kinds of experiences that make a person come back to a brand.  If you ever get an experience to take a look at their watches, take it!

The other day I had a once in a lifetime opportunity given to me to see an amazing Chopard piece. Here are some photos of the mini get-together. My WG LUC 150 is on the right and on the left? What is this? Ho! It's a PT950 LUC 150! The hands are a silver ...

Wow! There were rumours but now we have photographic evidence

The private order L.U.C 150 in platinum case.....the apocryphal timepiece. It must be a private order because the dial is black and that is not the usual Chopard dial colour for platinum L.U.C watches. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice time in Cannes; bring...

Admittedly, that blue PC looks amazing

I know people like to stick to the basics, but blue is my favorite color.

Fantastic piece!

And I hope you bring back a trophy from Cannes!

Haha...no, not a film guy.

But Chopard is a Cannes sponser and sometimes gives out tickets to customers. This year, I grabbed them. It's a "Piece Unique", as it says on the back. I guess that means that Chopard will never make another platinum/black combo of the LUC 150. Let me jus...

Wow, that's great!

Mr. Tommassino and Mr. Infante were incredible to work with. Great people, super modest, I mean, you can really see why they've made it with Chopard.

I love it! We have a beagle, and the cufflinks were too cute. Dogs, man. Dogs. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Scheufele himself. He had just come from driving the Mille Miglia. ...

Must have flown in a bizjet

Mr Scheufele has more legs of Mille Miglia to drive yet until 21st May. How can he get back from Cannes to drive the next day? Regards, MTF Miss K. ...

That, sir, is a good dog

I think Mr. Scheufele flew back around noon today? He wasn't in Cannes by then.

So, I promised something cool

I totally forgot to add the shot I had of the rear of the perpetual chrono. It's below. It's interesting to me how Chopard has gone their own way with their movements. Granted, it's because of ETA bringing all their movements in house, but it also shows a...
