Incoming - Time Traveler One in steel

Dec 17, 2016,00:55 AM

Received a msg that the watch arrived at the shop about 2+ weeks back while on vacation.  Picked it up today and some first impression and quick pics.

At 42mm, it is good size and wears well on the wrist with the tapered lugs.

Simple adjustments - Time/date via the crown at 2 and world time with the one at 4.  Superb legibility of the local time, world time off the markers pointing to each city on the 24 hr ring, and the date off the arrow pointer.

4 hand stack.

The in-house 4 hz calibre 01.05-L COSC certified movement with 60 hr power reserve.  Chamfering on the bridge edges are even to my eyes, Cotes de Geneve applied on the rotor and bridges.

Overall a very competent and compete package.  A fantastic piece by Chopard.

Cheers!

I had the opportunity to see it in Hong Kong, and must say that...

I liked what I saw, and I liked it a lot. The date is nicely integrated, here. The chromatic combination works for me, as well. This is a very well made watch. Huge congratulations, SF. Enjoy. Nicolas

The orange elements of the dial make the difference here. They really enhance it and give it a sporty side. Well thought. Enjoy and wear it in good health. HAGWE Best wishes Alkiro

Chopard makes one of the most wearable 42mm cases. The watch looks great on your wrist.

Just a side note - From the internet pics, the black dial seemed sunburst but I don't think so after looking pretty hard at the real thing after I picked it up, lol.

SF Especially the first, first-person's impression! You captured the salient points of attraction for this model. Thank you. I like the steel version but the current Mrs MTF prefers the rose gold variant because of the harmonious dial that is most legible...

Thks Dr. M! Agreed with yr Mrs the white dial is easier on the eyes.....

I prefer the dial color combo of the steel version with the hour markers which are applied on, gives the dial some texture IMO.

A good size too. The lugs are curved which makes the watch look smaller. Congratulations.

eye-catching reference ! IMO, The inclusion of a date function within a Worldtime is challenging because of potential information overload. Chopard has integrated the date smoothly in this watch. Enjoy often and travel often with your new Worldtime. Cheer...

Thank you Gordon! The size of the watch kinda mitigated the info overload....

all the info can be read off easily at a glance. The date function within the concentric circles is seriously ingenious contributing to the uniform flowing dial. However, the date hand could get hidden when the hour and minute hands overlap. Perhaps Chopa...

Dear SF, Indeed a tempting piece that made onto your wrist. Steel and orange accents are a nice color combo which I would want to see on my wrist. I'll be happy to see your LUC travelling around the world and kindly ask for postcards here. Enjoy and best ...
