Tribute to Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC

 By: almapama : March 22nd, 2017-06:43
Just fantastic...and it's 40mm! Now I'm struggling between this and the new Seamaster 300... Best, Matthias...

I like it...

 By: MichaelC : March 22nd, 2017-06:49
And a good case size. Looking forward to some live photos.

This is very cool!

The date, the damn date . . .

 By: M4 : March 22nd, 2017-07:07
Otherwise, SO COOL. M4

hate number

 By: Gelato Monster : March 22nd, 2017-18:20
no date please

This.

 By: Horologically_minded : March 22nd, 2017-07:12
Faithful to the original. Modern size without going over the top. Any word on the movement? J

It's equipped with the 1151...

 By: shortys home : March 22nd, 2017-07:16
... the updated version with silicon hairspring. I suppose the wonderful cal 1315 will just not fit a 40mm case... Love this one!!! Cheers Henrik ...

Awesome!.........................

 By: TonyR : March 22nd, 2017-12:04
If you can get a bracelet with it I'm sold! Tony

So cool !

Very nice dial and size !! At least a wearable FF. A well balanced dial/layout/bezel... I need one !

+1 [nt]

 By: shipkeeper : March 22nd, 2017-07:58

not that bad

 By: psfparis : March 22nd, 2017-08:40
nicolas you are not a date fan anyway. it worth a visit to Blancpain retailer

Moisture indicator

 By: almapama : March 23rd, 2017-02:08
I agree about the date. I wonder if the moisture indicator actually works...

A complication

 By: almapama : March 23rd, 2017-05:29
to support BP service centres? First live picture just appeared on Hodinkee, btw.

LOL! [nt]

First step in the right direction

 By: fifty fathoms : March 22nd, 2017-08:38
This is the first Fifty Fathoms there is coming the "I want to have it feeling". I can make friendship with the date. Size is good. Indicator is fine. Blue instead of orange would be more closed to the original. All in all.... Bravo Blancpain! Best regard...

Its my understanding they use to use cobalt chloride on the moisture indicators.

 By: Briandumais : March 23rd, 2017-08:39
It would start out blue and fade to a peach color. And i was told that if you spray argon onto old peach color CC it would change back to blue? Interesting science experiment. I think they should have use a nice peach color indicator. Brian ...

40mm! Yasss!

 By: brandon1 : March 22nd, 2017-08:46
And good choice of hands as well. Can\'t wait to see this one. Bravo Blancpain! Cheers, Brandon

Really like this one. I look forward to seeing it in the metal.

 By: vitalsigns : March 22nd, 2017-09:46
How about a regular down-sized BP FF at 40-42mm and a slimmer profile? That would be terrific. And if BP omits the date, I will head to my local Tourbillon boutique and order same-day Cheers, John

Size

 By: almapama : March 23rd, 2017-02:11
A 42mm/13mm version without the date would be great. At 40mm it might be a tad too small (due to the thick bezel), but I look forward to seeing the life pictures.

yep....with you here [nt]

Fan of everything except the date

 By: reintitan : March 22nd, 2017-12:06
Why ruin its good looks? And the awkward placement at 4:30. Sad. If they had to add the date (they didn't) then put it at least at 3:00 where it is more balanced.

This is very nice.

 By: ifraher : March 22nd, 2017-15:23
Well done Blancpain.

Why choose between them? Get both!

 By: Bounce781 : March 23rd, 2017-01:39
Wink wink

Ha. You and me both; buddy!

 By: Bounce781 : March 23rd, 2017-04:22
I totally know the feeling

I think they did a good job too.

 By: Briandumais : March 23rd, 2017-08:21
The size is great but i could also loose the date. I think if they had to used the date it should have been in the 15 position like this revolution. The revolution was also 40 mm and has a matt case. The brown nato is most excellent. Cool watch too. Brian...

This is looking promising....

 By: AlexSunrise : March 23rd, 2017-08:33
Kudos to Blancpain on this iteration of the FF! Perhaps in the years to come they will release a non limited 40mm without the moisture indicator? In any case this one is a beauty! Looking forward in learning more about it. Thanks for sharing, Mathias. Ale...

14000$ [nt]

 By: MCG (Markus) : March 23rd, 2017-14:01

Pricing seems a little too high, I agree. For one simple reason...

 By: shortys home : March 28th, 2017-08:53
...the calibre 1151. Even with being updated with silicon balance, it warrants more price discount compared to the calibre 1315 equipped FFs If the package included all, sailcloth, Nato and bracelet, it would be priced fair, though Cheers Henrik

The date killed it [nt]

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 29th, 2017-01:31

Love this one an awful lot- really cool !.. But 2 really big BUTs: 1) this terrible Date & 2) the price to me is over the top ! ;))

 By: hs111 : April 4th, 2017-09:43
But I have at least decided to see & touch it in real & on the wrist.. - Thx for this stimulating share ! Best, hs
